TLC: What Works 2019 has ended
Welcome to the Statewide Teacher Leadership and Compensation Conference.
  • Sign up for Three Breakout Sessions: We will have three rounds of sessions that focus on the four components in A Systematic Approach to Elevating Teacher Leadership. Choose the three components that you and/or your team want to focus on: purpose, roles and responsibilities; culture and structures; cultivating dispositions, or assessing impact. Sign up for the order in which you want to work on them. Note that while they are numbered in the paper, they are not chronological and do not need to be done in order. You may want to divide and conquer so that among your team members you attend all four. In order to accommodate the large number of educators, we are limiting each workshop capacity to 100 participants so you may not be able to sign up for the exact workshops or order you want.

  • Administrator Participation: At the same time as the component workshops, there will be workshops designed specifically for administrators. However, we recommend first that administrators attend workshops with their teams. Administrators may choose to attend workshops that meet their individual needs throughout the day.

Creating supporting conditions for teacher leadership increases the potential for success. A healthy school supports and advances teacher leadership, and teacher leadership contributes positively to a healthy culture. Structures including operations conditions such as procedures, resources including time, and policies that align with the school system’s purpose, definition or, and goals for teacher leadership, must be in place to facilitate teacher leadership. Participants will use the text, A Systemic Approach to Elevating Teacher Leadership, to reflect on their current program and brainstorm next steps.
